The successful Butlers Chocolate Cafés model have taken ‘Café Culture’ - frappéd it, iced it, put marshmallows and cookies in it, and are serving it up for the first time in the Southern Hemisphere.
In February 2007, Butlers Chocolates opened Cafés in Wellington, New Zealand, followed by a second store in Queensgate in November 2007 bringing the total number of franchises to fourteen to date inclusive of their outlets in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Westfield London and are now widely available in most major airports throughout the UK and at Waitrose stores.
These new retail outlets offer New Zealanders a chance to be introduced to some Irish favourites, the range includes truffles, pralines, fondant and crème fraiche chocolates in milk, dark and white chocolates. For those with an appreciation of both chocolate and popular Irish drinks, Butlers make a unique range of boxed truffles with famous Irish Flavours such as Irish Mist Liqueur, Irish Coffee and Irish Cream Liqueur.
Butler Chocolates, now over 75 years old, with their original head office still based in Dublin has a clear track record with retaining its authenticity through handing down the original Mrs Bailey-Butler's recipes and chocolate making techniques to the present generation.
The Butlers Chocolate evolution is a text book exemplar of how to get your product diversification strategy right on target as from 2006 to the present day, Butler's have developed new products, launching their first organic chocolate range, dark chocolate selection, 200g Chocolate cube range, Butlers Chocolate Café ice cream as well as Take Home Ice Cream amongst others. Also in collaboration, Butlers Chocolates launched a range of chocolates with Irish Fashion designer, Orla Kiely.
Butlers Chocolates are also no strangers to winning awards and in the past decade have been awarded the Brand Marketing Award from Bord Bia in the Irish Food and Drink Industry Awards as well as a host of FBD Crest Awards, Frontier and Golden Rose Awards to name a few.
They currently provide high quality chocolates to a myriad of industries and currently supply a range of airlines, duty free outlets, ferries in the UK, Middle East and Europe as well as David Jones in Australia and Farmers in New Zealand.
